Practical Solutions in Medical Informatics (PSMI) provides a broad scope of consulting, software and data services specially focused on clinical terminologies and information models. We were establishe in 2005 by James Shalaby, Pharm.D. and have steadily been growing ever since then. Our consultants (technical and clinical) and clinical informaticists (MDs, Pharm.D., RNs, Lab and Radiology experts) are nationally recognized with many years of experience as clinicians and informaticists. Because we know and came from clinical settings we take pride in knowing how to tailor solutions to meet your clinical and business needs.

PSMI specializes in clinical terminologies, national/international clinical standards, mappings to support interoperability, optimization of clinical content and clinical decision support systems, Meaningful Use certification, ePrescribing, and standards integration/adoption strategies. Our mission is to provide a continuum of solutions that focus on the "big picture". Over the years we've established a solid reputation for being the "bridge" between the IT and clinical worlds.
